Get Precious Metal Alerts - Questions
We've compiled some of the most frequently asked quesitons about the system here.
Question: How frequently is the system updated with metal prices?
Answer: We update to real-time gold, silver, platinum, and palladium prices every 10 minutes.
Question: I did not get the confirmation email or alert to my email box, where is it?
Answer: Email in general is an imperfect system. Spam filters, especially at free email sites such as yahoo, gmail, or hotmail can have overly agrressive settings. To be sure you receive email from us, whitelist our domain goldspotalert.com. The two email addresses we send from are: confirm@goldspotalert.com and notify@goldspotalert.com.
Question:How can I test to see if the notices arrive?
Answer: Just visit the home page and fill in an alert which will alert you immediately. For instance, set an alert for Gold to notify you if it exceeds $0.01. You will first get an email confirmation, unless your email is already confirmed, followed immediately by a notice that gold has exceeded $0.01/oz.
Question: I want the notice to beep my mobile phone. How do I do that?
Answer: Most mobile carriers have email gateways which deliver via their SMS (text message) service. You must have text messaging capabilities with your carrier. You can use the key below to determine how to enter your email address to notify your mobile device. Replace 5415551212 with your actual mobile number. If your carrier is not listed, call them and ask what their email gateway is. AT&T: 5415551212@txt.att.net Verizon: 5415551212@vtext.com Sprint: 5415551212@messaging.sprintpcs.com T-Mobile: 5415551212@tmomail.net A more comprehensive list can be found here.
Question: How many notifications will I get?
Answer: You will receive one notification based on the criteria you specify. For instance, if today's price of silver is 15.00, and you set a price notification of 15.50, and tomorrow it reaches 15.50; you will receive a notice tomorrow at the time it reaches that value. No further. You can however setup as many unique notifications as you wish and you can return and re-set more any time.
Question: Does goldspotalert.com sell precious metals?
Answer: NO. We do not sell any metals. There are many reputable sources online that do. One such vendor that many have claimed is very good is Kitco. Please do your own research before purchasing online, there are also many bad dealers on the internet as well.
Question: Can I count on the notices arriving?
Answer: Generally speaking yes; however, since email relies on a lot of factors outside of our control we cannot guarantee delivery and we do not warrant the service. If you have money on the line we recommend you do not solely rely on this system. Please review our terms of service.
